You will receive a notification regarding the status of your application no later than August 4, 2023. If your application is accepted, you will be provided with instructions on how to make the payment for the registration fee of €450. This fee covers a five-day program, including courses, coffee breaks, lunches for all five days, and social events on two evenings. Furthermore, ACM will provide free 1-year memberships for the students attending the school.

Scholarships: A limited number of 10 scholarships will be available, based on both merits and financial need. Two types of scholarships will be offered:

  • 5 Registration Fee Waivers: This scholarship is open to all applicants and covers the registration fee, meaning you will not be required to make the payment.
  • 5 Full Scholarships: These scholarships include travel support and support for accommodation, with a maximum value of €1500, as well as a waiver of the registration fee. Only students enrolled at universities in countries of the Global South are eligible for these full scholarships. Travel support will be reimbursed, and if you are granted funding, you will need to register for the school, book and pay for your travel, and submit the receipts for reimbursement. Accommodation will be arranged by the local organizers, and you will not have to pay the registration fee.

If you wish to apply for a registration fee waiver or a full scholarship, please include a recommendation letter from a professor at your university/institution, along with an additional statement in your application (both in English and in PDF format, with a maximum length of 1 page each). In the statement, explain why you require financial assistance or travel support, and also indicate if you would be able to attend the summer school without the provided support.

Visa invitation letters: Visa invitation letters can be requested when registering.

ECTS Credits: Upon successful completion of the summer school, participants will be awarded either two ECTS credit points if they actively engage in all lectures, practical components, and the group project, or three ECTS credit points if they additionally submit a final paper.
