Energy and Buildings
Coordinator: Gerald Schweiger
Buildings and energy systems play a central role in tackling climate change, as they are both major sources of emissions and key pathways for decarbonisation. This Special Interest Group advances the scientific understanding and application of Artificial Intelligence in the operation, design, and optimization of energy systems and buildings, with the goal of making them more efficient, sustainable, and resilient. The Special Interest Group also emphasizes the meta-scientific dimensions of applied AI research — including reproducibility, transparency, and robustness. By bringing together computer scientists, engineers, and domain experts, the group fosters interdisciplinary collaboration.
