Short Bio
Clemens Heitzinger received both his master’s degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in applied mathematics and his PhD degree (Dr. techn.) in technical sciences with highest honors from TU Wien. He was a visiting researcher in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Arizona State University, a research associate in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, and a senior research associate in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) at the University of Cambridge. In 2015, he returned to TU Wien as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Geoinformation after having been offered a tenured position at Arizona State University. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Arizona State University. He was awarded the START Prize, Austria’s most prestigious award for young scientists, by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) in 2013.
