William Aspray is a professor of information science at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is trained in mathematics, philosophy, and history of science. He has previously taught at Harvard, Indiana, and Texas; and served in senior management positions at the Charles Babbage Institute for the history of computing, the IEEE Center for the History of Information Processing, and Computing Research Association. He writes on the history of computing, the history of information, information behavior, and information policy.
